I can't open older files on my PC, I get the message pictured above: "The file contains features of a newer Affinity Version"

I have version 1.10.6.1665 installed, and I downloaded the latest version and tried to repair my Installation. The files I try to open are from 2023 and older, so they simply can't contain features of a newer version....

What can I do?

Thank you!

Claudia

It opens OK in v2, with no warning that it was created in v1, which indicates that, even if it was originally created in v1, it has been edited and resaved from v2. Are these entirely your own files, or has someone else edited them later?

I would suggest downloading the trial of v2, try opening the files, then, if they are OK, resaving them as a different file type, such as PDF. (Unless you want to upgrade to v2.)

@PaulEC Thank you, I thought I had upgraded to v2 recently, but with the change of my desktop machine I probably installed v1 accidentally. This might be the cause! Thank you for figuring this out!
