Corner Tool: symbol/scaling issue

I created a symbol (left tear), duplicated it and scaled it down (right tear).

When I use the corner tool on the left shape, the effect on the right one (scaled-down symbol) is not proportional.

What am I doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong. The Corner Tool uses absolute sizes (Radius setting in the context toolbar). The larger object supports a wider radius than the smaller object. If you want to keep the proportions, duplicate the bigger one, bake the curves and scale down.
