itsgca Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 I have a long document in Publisher. When I scroll through the document then where exactly in the interface does it show which is the spread I am viewing at any given time? Quote
Pšenda Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 You mean Pages panel? https://affinity.help/publisher2/English.lproj/pages/Panels/pagesPanel.html Quote Affinity Store (MSI/EXE): Affinity Suite (ADe, APh, APu) 2.5.7.2948 (Retail) Dell OptiPlex 7060, i5-8500 3.00 GHz, 16 GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630, Dell P2417H 1920 x 1080, Windows 11 Pro, Version 24H2, Build 26100.2605. R C-R Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 You can also see the current spread or page in the navigation section at the left of the status bar at the bottom of the document window. This is available even if the Pages panel has been hidden. It also shows statistics like the number of words, paragraphs, etc., chosen via a popup menu. The bottom left shows the active page (the one with the grey border in the pages panel). Let's say I have a 24 page document. Page 2 is the active page and page 4 is the selected page (with the blue border in the pages panel). If I scroll down in the main window to say the 21st page, does it show anywhere that my main window is displaying the 21st page? Quote

I am pretty sure you will need to have "Scroll With View" checked in the Pages pane's hamburger menu checked and you will also have to click with the mouse on the page in "main window" in order to have the grey outline applied to that page in the page's panel. Until you click on that page in the "main window" you are simply looking at the pages, the Pages panel will show you a range of pages but not the one page that you have in the "main window". Fortunately, clicking on a page is not required to make the Pages Panel's thumbnails correspond to the spread currently shown in the main window. Of course, the option "Scroll with view" must be activated. Quote • MacBookPro Retina 15" | macOS 10.14.6 | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1 • iPad 10.Gen. | iOS 18.5. | Affinity V2.6

The 'main' (document) window can show any number of pages depending on how far you zoom out, or just a part of one page if you zoom in far enough, so there is no direct way for the app to tell you what page or even how many pages that window is showing. IOW, what the document window shows is completely independent of the current active (grey) page or spread & any selected (blue) ones.
