HappyDoom Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Is there a way to set undo and redo as shortcuts for mouse buttons in general? I tried it with my mouse in the settings, but no clicked button would appear in the fields. Quote Windows 11 Home, Ryzen 9 7900, 64GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 4070 TI Super (Studio drivers)
Ron P. Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 I don't think there's a way inside of the Affinity apps. What mouse are you using? I use a Logi MX Master 3S. This thing is so versatile. I can program all the buttons, and specific per app. So what I have set for example Undo/Redo in Designer is the 2 small side buttons, below the side scroll wheel, I can program them to do something totally different in another app. Logi MX Master 3S Quote Affinity Photo 2.6..; Affinity Designer 2.6..; Affinity Publisher 2.6..; Affinity2 Beta versions. For example I have one of the buttons on my Wacom tablet set to Escape + Escape + V so I can get the text cursor in a text frame to become the Move tool. I have this set for the three Affinity applications. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Attached a short video showing all that can be set. These settings are for each button. This thing is fantastic. There's others that have more buttons. Gamers really like these type of mouse. 2024-11-10_14-17-10.mp4 Quote Affinity Photo 2.6..; Affinity Designer 2.6..; Affinity Publisher 2.6..; Affinity2 Beta versions. That was just an example of what I did, the Undo and Redo commands, which @HappyDoom was asking about, don't need to use Escape. Coincidently I'll be hunting for exact that mouse on the upcoming Black Friday. ; ) Right now I'm using one from Sharkoon, also with many programmable buttons, but undo/redo isn't included in the software and the makro function seems broken. That's why I hoped I could set it somehow in the Affinity apps. But no big deal, in a couple days that problem will be solved with the new mouse. Thanks for the tip and the video tho! Looking forward for that little plastic rodent. Btw., too bad the 3S doesn't come with the same sweet black & brass color like the original MX Master, but you can't have it all. 🤷♂️ Ron P. 1 Quote Windows 11 Home, Ryzen 9 7900, 64GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 4070 TI Super (Studio drivers)
