mkpatrick6709 Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 I previously created several objects. I don't have them selected in the layers panel and they vary in colors. However, when I attempt to create a new object, I can't change the color of the new object I want to create before drawing it because trying to do so changes the background color. So, I create the object first then go to change the color. Well, this is the first time I am experiencing this but the newly created object is selected and when I try to change the color, first the color wheel is missing so I click on Edit Global Color to make it pop up and choose a new color and it changes the new object plus others on the canvas which are not selected. I initially had the new object in the center of the layers and thought maybe that was the problem, although no other object was selected. I moved it off to the side and still the same result. I've never used changed same anything and none of the previous objects are Ellipses. They are crescents and the object I am trying to create the change color is an ellipse. I didn't use the same stroke on the new object. I am using a brush. Seems to be a bug to me. Quote
GarryP Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 If you edit a Global Colour, all layers which use that Global Colour will change colour at the same time. This is how Global Colours are supposed to work - they are 'global' for the whole document and any changes are applied to anything that uses them. If you don’t want this to happen then just don’t use a Global Colour. P.S.I don’t think it is a good idea to change the PANTONE Global Colours as they are supposed to be the same everywhere. (And it probably, unless I’m missing some important information, shouldn’t be possible.) Quote
mkpatrick6709 Posted November 11, 2024 Author Posted November 11, 2024 Ah! Thank you for the explanation GarryP. I'm still learning about the program. I thought global color was just a color platte that can be used or uploaded to any design program. Thanks for educating me. Quote
