HAYW1RE Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Howdy Folks, Sorry if this has been answered before. I did look but couldn't figure it out. I'm using Affinity v1 on a Mac I have my Document Setup / Color Format set to CMYK/8 / Color Profile U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 When I export to PDF and open with Adobe Acrobat the colors look bright. In the screenshot below it's the right half of the image. Once I upload this PDF to the printer (VistaPrint) the proof I get back shows the colors darker and a little muddy. The blue turns almost purple. (Left side of this image) I did a test print and the colors were even further off than the proof showed. Am I missing something? What do I need to do to make the colors on my PDF match a proof that a printer uses? Thanks for your patience with a newb. Any insight is appreciated. Quote
Hangman Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Hi @HAYW1RE and welcome to the forums, Which location is your artwork being printed in, the US or Europe... If Europe then my best guess is that the proof colour mismatch you're seeing is because VistaPrint uses the FOGRA39 Colour Profile in Europe which would result in a more purple-looking muddier blue when converted from U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2... HAYW1RE Posted November 8, 2024 Author Posted November 8, 2024 Hello @Hangman. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. I'm in the US. Is the U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 color profile the correct profile to be using or should I use the Generic CMYK Color profile? Quote
Hangman Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Just now, HAYW1RE said: I'm in the US.
