Pub V2 ToC tiny text after I hit update - Please help

I'm sure there must be something obvious I'm missing, but I am tearing my hair out trying to solve this problem. My ToC should look like this:
 

But after I update it, it becomes this: 

I have checked all the ToC Paragraph Styles one by one to make sure that the font sizes hadn't been changed somehow, and they're all set as they should be, so I don't understand what is going on and what I did wrong. This didn't happen last time I updated in this same work session, and I've been doing the same types of edits to the text of the document the whole time. I also tried just closing and restarting the program, but that didn't fix it.

What is making it turn tiny? Any ideas? In addition to the images, I've uploaded my publisher file if anyone wants to try it for themselves and see if it happens to you too.

There is a known bug that "repeats" last formatting (wherever, whenever it was done…) when you update the ToC.

Thank you so much. It took some fiddling to get the workaround to work, but I got it. You're a lifesaver!
