BudgetEagle Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Affinity Photo 2.5.5 from the Microsoft store on win11 pro x64. Source cameras : Nikon Z6, ZF, Z8 Lenses with issues tried : 70-180 2.8 nikkor ( lacks a lens profile entirely however the original version of the lens, the Tamron A056 is there ) 180-600 nikkor ( This one lacks a lens profile entirely - DSC_5258.NEF ) sony 1.4 24mm GM ( adapted to Z, however the exif data shows up correctly yet it does not correct ) sony 1.4 35mm GM ( adapted to Z, however the exif data shows up correctly yet it does not correct DSC_3716.NEF) On everything I try, Affinity photo 2 1.) says "The best lens profile has been selected" and the dropdown is empty or says (none) 2.) picks the wrong lens ( see DSC_7012.NEF - it should be going to either no lens, or the tamron version of the same lens ) A NEF file shot on a 70-180mm gets auto detected as a KMZ Helios-44 1:2 ( look at NEF file DSC_7012.NEF attached ) 3.) says its broken/can't select it automatically despite the lens existing in the database and it being correctly marked in EXIF ( DSC_3716.NEF with the 35mm 1.4 GM ) I understand the 180-600 has no profile yet, but the other lenses should be able to automagically apply distortion corrections out of box. Or there should be a user-declared lookup table so that even if it can't pick up an adapted lens all the way, it can read any specified value in the exif and auto-apply a certain correction DSC_7012.NEF DSC_5258.NEF DSC_3716.NEF Quote
Staff NathanC Posted November 7, 2024 Staff Posted November 7, 2024 Hi @BudgetEagle, I've logged these Lens correct auto detect issues with the developers. 👍 On 11/5/2024 at 7:40 PM, BudgetEagle said: sony 1.4 24mm GM ( adapted to Z, however the exif data shows up correctly yet it does not correct ) Have you got a NEF file with this lens model in the EXIF data just so I can log this separately? David in Яuislip Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 Try this lens profile, it uses the Tamron data and persuades PhotoV1 to select the lens automatically for your NIKKOR Z 70-180mm f/2.8 using DSC_7012.NEF, hopefully it'll work on V2 NIKKOR_Z_70-180.xml Quote Microsoft Windows 11 Home, Intel i7-1360P 2.20 GHz, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Intel Iris Xe Affinity Photo - 24/05/20, Affinity Publisher - 06/12/20, KTM Superduke - 27/09/10

Attached is a image shot with an adapted 24 GM sony 1.4 using the ETZ megadap adapter on my nikon. ( DSC_0047.NEF ) There are some other lenses I would like to see profiles added for that you don't have yet. Tamron Nikon Z 28-75 G2 , nikon 26mm 2.8 Z , viltrox 20mm 2.8 Z, viltrox 35mm 1.8 for Z, meike 85mm 1.4 for Z, meike 85mm 1.8 for Z, 85mm 1.2 nikkor Z, 50mm 1.2 nikkor Z, Affinity is really out of date when it comes to lens profiles on the nikon side of things. I'll supply some NEF sample files when I can but I don't own/plan to own most of these lenses. DSC_0047.NEF Westerwälder 1 Quote

Here is a NEF file from the viltrox 20mm 2.8 for Z @NathanC Similar to the others it shows up as an error, but the lens model is recorded correctly. DSC_7562.NEF Quote

Windows detail window shows nothing but it was 20mm, however exifglass shows the correct lens but its not in the same line/area as the other lenses as it usually shows up. Quote

BudgetEagle Posted December 5, 2024 Author Posted December 5, 2024 @NathanC I have the same issue on the tamron 28-75 G2 for nikon Z mount ; ; I just purchased it over the weekend. Here are some sample files so you can replicate the issue. DSC_1897.NEFDSC_1896.NEFDSC_1898.NEF Quote
David in Яuislip Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Correction for the Tamron 28-75 G2 has been in lensfun since Sep 19, 2023 so it should be in your Photo database but Photo cannot identify it I suggest opening a raw file then typing 28-75 into the profile box to see the options The A063 lens should appear as in the image below so use that until Serif fixes the problem and it's automatically selected The distortion correction is quite pronounced and the vignetting correction is useful so it's worth doing even if tedious, you can add the lens to the ♥Favourites BudgetEagle 1 Quote Microsoft Windows 11 Home, Intel i7-1360P 2.20 GHz, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Intel Iris Xe Affinity Photo - 24/05/20, Affinity Publisher - 06/12/20, KTM Superduke - 27/09/10

Thank you. Quote
