covehithe Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Using Mac 15.1 Publisher 2.5.5 Trying to create 16 page booklet which is All text. I paste the first lot of text (its 7 pages) into Page 1 of my booklet. Shift and click the Red triangle right of page. All the text populates the 7 pages in booklet and immediately after that it crashes. Tried it several times and it crashes. Any ideas as to why. thanks Quote
MikeTO Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Do you have hardware acceleration enabled in Settings > Performance? If so, disable it and set Display to OpenGL instead of Metal. If you've already done that, what format is the text? Plain text, RTF, docx? Can you share a screen recording of the issue or a sample document? Can you share the crash report? covehithe Posted November 6, 2024 Author Posted November 6, 2024 Mike thanks for your advice. Disabled Metal > now OpenGL I have tried .docx & rtf Publisher still crashes Crash report attached thanks crash report 2.5.5.rtf Quote
MikeTO Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Serif will likely have to look into this one for you. If you're unable to share a test file in public then they may provide a private upload link when they reply. Are you able to copy/paste the text in since it won't place? covehithe Posted November 6, 2024 Author Posted November 6, 2024 Sorry, just to clarify you want to see the crash report pasted here, which I can do. Quote
MikeTO Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 I looked at the crash report but I'm not an expert at deciphering them so Serif will have to take a look. Sharing a docx or rtf file that has the problem would help us narrow it down more quickly. If you're able to share it publicly one of us users could test it and figure out what in the file is causing the problem. Many users import docx and rtf files every day without issues so it's probably one specific thing and if you knew what it was you could delete that before importing the file. covehithe Posted November 6, 2024 Author Posted November 6, 2024 Mike I have kind of resolved the problem. I uninstalled it and re-installed on another of my machine and it works. So not totally satisfactory but I am able to create booklets. A bit disappointed because both Photo & Designer 2 work very well with no problems. Thanks for your help Quote
Staff stokerg Posted January 10 Staff Posted January 10 Hi @covehithe, Are you able to replicate this in the latest version of Affinity? If you can, can you upload the docx and RTF files you are using to our Dropbox here and i'll see if i can replicate the crash and get it logged with the Developers. Quote
