Selection Objects - Different behaviour between 2.5.5 and 2.6.0

Hi, i'm facing a different behaviour when selecting objects between 2.5.5 and 2.6.0.

As you can see, when i click in a blank part it should deselect, as expected in 2.5.5, but in 2.6.0 if i click in a blank space it's selecting a layer, not what i expect, so i don't know if this is a bug or a new way of selection. Please let me know.

Hi @dcarvalho84,

This looks like a bug, I'm seeing the same behaviour on both Mac and Windows in the 2.6 Beta... It looks as though selecting an empty area is incorrectly selecting another Layer in the Layer's panel when it shouldn't be...

I came to report this same issue. I will add that this behaviour prevents one from drag-selecting multiple objects on a layer, which makes working with objects quite difficult. Hopefully it is a bug and not an intended new behaviour.

It is, it's now been logged as a bug with the bug reference AF-4945 so hopefully, we'll see a fix in the next Beta release...

No fix for this in the latest beta @Patrick Connor? This bug is driving me crazy. I have to make my selection in a different way which takes too much time and most of the times i'm moving what i don't want to!

The issue "Layer/Group will be selected when clicking into empty space within bounding box" (REF: AF-4945) has been fixed by the developers in the latest beta build (2.6.0.2900). The fix is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
