How do I delete a selection of rasterised layer in Affinity Photo?

I have a layer and have rasterised it. I want to remove parts of the layer, but I can't. I use the marquee tool to create a selection, with the rasterized layer selected, but when I hit the delete key on the section nothing happens.

Does anyone know what I can do?

@Return I've attached the file here. I am trying to delete pixels from the top most layer.

Does Edit > Cut work?

Thanks @Return and @carl123, I restarted the program and it now works. Don't know what went wrong earlier.
