One Image in several image boxes

Hi all,

I would like to split an image over several image boxes. I.e. an image should be placed over the whole page, but only be visible in the image boxes on this page. 
Sure, you can place the image as often as there are image boxes and then move the individual images so that the whole image is visible again, but this is time-consuming and I would like to simplify the work. Is that possible?

Another option, when available, would be to the use the Vector Flood Fill Tool.

It works in a different way to the method above so may be what is needed in other circumstances.
