MarFe Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Hi there, I just recently bought an Affinity V2 universal license. I installed the version 2.5.5 of Photo, Publisher and Designer. None of them started. Only the splash screen appears for 2 seconds and then nothing. I tried to install previous versions of Photo down to the version 2.4.0. without success. Always the same behaviour. My previous installation of Affinity Photo 1, which worked fine before the installation of V2, does also not work anymore. It showed the same beahviour. Splash screen appeared and then nothing more. I already deinstalled all versions of the Affinity Apps and installed the most recent .net version from Microsoft as well as version 2.5.5 of Affinity Photo again. I also newly started windows in between the deinstallations and installations. Still the same behaviour. Splash screen and then nothing. Anybody an idea? I already read some of the issues which seem to be close to this beahviour in the forum. But the solutions mentioned there did not resolve my issue :-(. I am using Win10 version 22H2, .Net 8.0.403. Graphics card AMD Radeon RX460 with Adrenalin driver 24.9.1. Thanks for your help in advance. Quote

MarFe Posted November 4, 2024 Author Posted November 4, 2024 Thanks Psenda, this seems to have resolved the issue. All applications start now after I tried at first the command line option --no-ocl (however I had to start them via this option every time). Then I tried again the option with holding down the CTRL-key while double clicking the corresponding app and then ticking only the box with "Disable Hardware Acceleration" (this option was not available before applying the command line option though). Now all applications start by double clicking without problems. Thanks once again 👍 Pšenda 1 Quote
