Non-destructive Smart Selection refine mode

Hello,

Would it be possible to make the refine process following Smart Selection non-destructive. Affinity Photo 2 on my iPad mini 6th gen has crashed a couple of times when I have spent a long time in the refine process and it does not preserve any of that and takes me back to the Smart Selection stage.
