Eddie M. Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 Hello, When you select the Move tool then hover it over an asset like an image, this string of text appears at the bottom (see image). However in doing these, I think the suggestion for Clone and Ignore are mixed up; Option (the button that looks like 3/4 of an X) clones the selected image, not Command. If I'm correct in this, then this is a small UI copy update to fix. I'm on a one year old MBP running one of the newer versions of OSX. Quote
Gripsholm Lion Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 I just made the most cursory of checks to refresh my memory, but it works as advertised for me. Sorry about being the "works for me" guy! Alfred 1 Quote

Gripsholm Lion Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 Not sure what you mean, there, Return. ⌥ ignores snapping while moving (without duplication) a placed asset. Using both keys together will duplicate and place without constraint by snapping. HCl 1 Quote
fde101 Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 On the Mac: If you are holding down the option key when you start dragging, it clones the object and ignores snapping. If you start dragging first, and then hold down the option key while you finish dragging, it moves the existing object, ignoring snapping. If you are holding down the command key when you start dragging, it clones the object and honors snapping. If you start dragging first, and then hold down the command key while you finish dragging, it does the same thing. I'm not convinced that is how it should work, but at least that is what it is doing for me. HCl 1 Quote
Gripsholm Lion Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 That's interesting. I have no easy way of trying that on my laptop — due to a big touchpad combined with limited dexterity in one hand, I can only really start the drag first, shift one hand around a bit, and stretch for a modifier key — so I tried it on my iMac and you're quite right: for the ⌥ key function, the order matters.
