mjh2
I have opened a psd file in affinity photo and what to change the colour of a couple of layers, I can't see how to do it, in photoshop you just double clicked on the layer you wanted t change and it came up with the colour palette. How do I do this in Affinity photo?
Staff MEB Posted July 11, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 11, 2016 Hi mjh2, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) What kind (type) of layers are you editing? Vector layers (Curves), pixel layers... mjh2
It is probably pixel layers as I say I am not very proficient with photoshop but I found it easy to use as i'm sure I will affinity photo eventually. I created a psd image as layers some presume pixel layers, in put shop all need to do was to double click on the later and it gave me the option to change the colour of that layer, I can's see how to change the layer colour on affinity photo
Staff MEB Posted July 12, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 12, 2016 Hi mjh2, Without seeing the file is difficult to guess what type of objects you are working with but assuming you have a pixel layer selected go to menu Edit ▸ Fill... and use one of the three first options to change its colour. If you just want to create a layer to fill with a solid colour/gradients etc, you can also go to menu Layer ▸ New Fill Layer and use the options from the context toolbar to fill it as you wish. mjh2
The psd file already has just two, layers there, so if I elect a layer then go to fill I will change the colour is that correct? So basically If I then select the other layer can then change that colour, is that correct? I also have another topic going about adding an image on to the psd file, I have done that ut even after looking at your tutorial on layers I still can't get it to work so that I can rotate that image and resize. All these are very simple actions if you know where to start, its just finding the starting point, I'm sure I will live it when I can get used to how it is set out Any help would be much appreciated, can I upload files so that you can see what I require? Staff MEB Posted July 12, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 12, 2016 Hi mjh2, Yes, assuming we are talking about the same thing. You can upload your file using this link. I already replied to your another topic about rotating layers. Check it out. Alfred
That link works fine for me. This is what I see in Firefox: What browser are you using? Maybe it's blocking something.
