Yuli Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 Affinity lacks many commonly used keyboard shortcuts. Numerous actions must be performed by clicking little buttons scattered around the UI. This is not only far from useful, but also far from beautiful, detracting from the user experience. Here is a list of shortcuts that are very simple to implement (from a coding perspective), but that will improve the app significantly. Single toggle keys, instead of having two keys for the same behavior: - Toggle hide/show current layer - Toggle lock/unlock current layer - Toggle group/ungroup selected layer/layers Node tool shortcuts (Designer): - Split curve after selection - Close curve - Smooth curve - Reverse curve - Toggle transforme mode - Merge curves - Separate curves - Fill holes - Remove inner curves - Cut curves with key object Other missing shortcuts: - Show FX panel - Show blend options panel - Show color picker when `alt+drag` when using Move tool - Toggle transform objects separately (Affinity Photo) - Toggle "Wet Edges" in brush tool (Affinity Photo) - Toggle "Protect Alpha" in brush tool (Affinity Photo) - Key/keys to change between Pen modes (Pen Mode/Smart/Polygon/Line) That's it for this post. I do hope you could consider adding these features. Thank you for this piece of software ❤️ Juhani, Greg512, joysukew and 2 others 5 Quote
ZhangX Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 I second, at least, 'Toggle transform objects separately'. It's a frequently switched option, and often invoked while some operation is ongoing. Quote
joysukew Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Totally agree -Toggle "Wet Edges" in brush tool (Affinity Photo) - Toggle "Protect Alpha" in brush tool (Affinity Photo) especially when doing concept art, painting, illustration etc, it would be nice to have these hotkeys access to not break the flow. also easier way to invert mask maybe i miss something if anyone knows please point me to that. I definitely agree that it would be nice to be able to assign shortcuts to more of these commands and toggles, however. Quote
affi.usr Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 Adding flexibility doing anything with keyboard, even move cursor by some bunch pixels instead pen / mouse and massive settings assign key shortcuts to anything, save it as preset and use it will open suite for another level. For example searching Pantone color using shortcuts to move search windows (which is at the bottom of the panel) and type it. This way if more you use you can speed up most common used behaviours even without using macros. Quote
