@amiller I'm not positive, but I don't think this exact feature is available as an automatic preset (someone please correct me if I am mistaken). But, you CAN do it manually. In the Layers Panel, there is a WARP icon (next to the FX icon at the bottom of the panel) which allows you to apply many different warp/distortion effects to text (or other vector shapes). I warped the text below using the QUAD Warp. Quad Warp initially has a Node at each of the four corners (hence the name quad). I added an extra node by clicking in the center of the lower horizontal line of the bounding box, which created a new "vertical mesh line". I grabbed the lower center node, held down Shift to constrain movement vertically,  then warped the bottom of the text upwards with my mouse. The original text was created with the Artistic Text Tool. The Warp features are pretty flexible. Hope that satisfactorily answers your question.

I would avoid creating a new node in quad mesh warp. This makes it harder.

Just click and drag in the middle between the lower nodes. Simplifies the workflow.

@NotMyFault Thanks...that's definitely better – easier – faster!!

@amiller Pretty close to "automatic" effect using NotMyFault's method.

i have never found a way to accurately grab the middle between the nodes. What am I missing?

Also, unless I add a new node somewhere along the edge, Shift does not constrain the drag to vertical, so again, it is just an 'eyeball' approximation.

Create Artistic Text.

Drag a Vertical Guide from the left ruler to the center of the Text box.

Add the Quad Warp Filter.

Grab bottom line of the Quad Warp box where it meets the ruler guide and drag straight up. If you need it to be exact, zoom in close.

My point is no matter how far I zoom in, it i not going to snap to the exact center, so it will always be an 'eyeball' approximation.

If I add a new warp node, I can snap it to the guide, but I still can't get something that looks like your example because the node has handles that I can't get rid of which warps the text unevenly along the bottom. It looks like this:

I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

DON'T add a new warp node (as @NotMyFault posted). Keep ONLY the 4 corner nodes generated by the Quad Warp Filter, but don't add any others. Then...grab the bottom line of the WARP bounding box where it meets the vertical ruler guide we createdand drag it straight up. No, there's no snapping involved, but how 'exact' does one 'need' something like this to be?

What would be the problem if it's off by 0.000001 mm?

I am only saying there is no way to grab the exact center. I do not know in what if any workflows a tiny amount of inaccuracy might be a problem, or how much inaccuracy might be a problem for some use case.

That said, I think it would be useful if the warp tools had better, more comprehensive snapping options ... which if I am not mistaken is already a feather request.
