Hi,

Since it happens to try to copy part of an image not yet converted to pixels, I would suggest to add the following feature to Photo:

1. Select an area in the image-type layer.

2. Choose the Copy or Cut command.

3. At this point, Photo will ask if you want to convert the layer into a pixel-type layer, and then copy or cut.

Maybe this should be an option in the Assistant settings?

But in that case, this action, even if it is completely undesirable, is always carried out without the user's knowledge. After all, this is the reason why I was forced to turn off all the automatic functions of the assistant (often very useful), because there is no option to turn on/force the confirmation of this operation. In the mentioned case, it is enough to have the wrong layer selected during the Copy/Cut operation (the lock, as we all know, is completely useless), and the wrong layer will be accidentally rasterized, which is easily overlooked by the user, so it will not be corrected in time.

But, if it is an option, those who want it can use it, you and I can turn it off! You do also have the option to turn on or off notifications that the Assistant has performed an action.

This is quite difficult. For too long, I've had this exact suggestion noted in a list of things which I would like see added to the Assistant. However, you have both made good points for and against. Some actions may need an extra level of protection from human error.

This is exactly what I miss about the current implementation of the Assistant, because otherwise it would be a very useful tool. It would be enough to enable the confirmation of a destructive operation, for example using the don't ask dialogue, which Affinity already uses, so nothing new and difficult to implement. And displaying the history of reports about the operations performed, so that the user can verify that something undesirable has not been done and can respond to it in time.

If only one could assign a keyboard shortcut to a Macro, this would be easy to solve (I haven't found how to assign keyboard shortcuts to macros).
