meachp
Firstly apologies if I'm appearing stupid, but I did try to find the answer elsewhere before posting this, and apologies if this is in the wrong place - if so please remove it or place it where it should be. I've stumbled into here because of my interest in Affinity Photo really, but I used to use Page Plus (Publishing Suite 3.0) a long while back, and I'm really enjoying learning to use Affinity Designer (will probably buy it when the time comes. My question is: What are the differences between DrawPlus/Designer on one hand and PagePlus/Publisher on the other, i.e. what would you use each for, or, what tasks should be done in each? They seem very similar but they each must have their own purposes. Many thanks to anyone patient enough to explain to me.

meachp
Thank you - but this explains the difference between DrawPlus and Designer which isn't what I asked. To put it another way, what's the difference between DrawPlus and PagePlus, or between Designer and Publisher?
Alfred
I'm afraid I lost track of this thread and I only just found it again by trawling through a list of new content in threads where I have participated. I'm sorry that no one else replied in the meantime. As you've observed, I answered a different question than the one you actually asked! DrawPlus and Designer are vector graphics programs; although both can cope with many aspects of text handling, that isn't their primary focus. PagePlus is (and Publisher will be) a DTP program; i.e. it's intended to be used for page layout. A drawing program should allow you to do things like flowing text to fit into a shape; a DTP application needs to allow wrapping options so that text can flow around pictures, and linking of text frames so that the contents can flow from one frame to the next. Dave Harris
Affinity Publisher is aimed at posters, leaflets, books and similar. Affinity Designer is aimed at illustration and user interface design.
