Gary Jones
[Sorry if this has been suggested before - I searched but couldn't find any relevant entry so raised this one myself] When I resize a canvas (in Affinity Photo) I often simply want to, say, double the height or width. However there is no option to specify a percentage change. Instead I have to view in, say, centimetres and then calculate what 2 or 3 or whatever times is and then enter that value. An option to enter say 200% or 300% or 150% or 75%, whatever, would be a lot more convenient. Thanks.
fde101
just type it in with the "%" character at the end - "200%", etc.
Gary Jones
@fde101. I just tried this and it works! I don't know whether to feel elated or embarrassed. Is this actually documented or do you just have to be in the know? Either way thank you for your assistance.

Gary Jones
@walt.farrell Thank you for this. I think I need to read the help file in detail as it looks like you can do quite a few different types of expression which is great. Thanks again. walt.farrell

It is clearly not the most discoverable feature of the software, but as @walt.farrell pointed out, it is definitely an intentional feature of the software. EDIT: perhaps Serif could read this as a request to put something small in a few of the dialog boxes to draw attention to this fact? Perhaps just a label somewhere to the effect of "Enter a size, formula or percentage in each field" with a link to the help topic, or something like that? People ask for this repeatedly because it isn't really obvious and they are used to seeing it as a drop-down option in other software...
