gt4bro Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 I've just updated my Mac OS to Sonoma 14.4.1, and now across Photo/Publisher/Designer no documents are visible. The layers panel show layers, but nothing is visible in the workspace. I'm using Affinity 2.5.5. Any suggestions for a desperate designer now unable to work!? Thank you!
gt4bro Posted October 21, 2024 Author Posted October 21, 2024 I've just found a fix from another post! Just incase anyone else has the same problem and is as clueless as me I'll put the fix here for further visiblity : Go to: Settings > Preference > Display > Click on the drop-down menu and change from 'Open GL' to 'Software'.
MikeTO Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 You shouldn't have to do this and "Software" is a lot slower than OpenGL. It would be good to switch it back and try to figure it out. Is it with all documents? Does it happen with new documents? Do the documents use Affinity Fonts? Is it with all three Affinity applications? Are you on Intel or Apple Silicon? Good luck Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters MacBook Pro (M4 Pro, Tahoe 26.1) and iPad Air (M2, iPadOS 26.1)
Staff NathanC Posted October 31, 2024 Staff Posted October 31, 2024 @MikeTO I have previously seen cases where the canvas does not render similarly to what is shown in the OP's screenshots when macOS has been updated with programs like "OpenCore Legacy Patcher" and similar solutions that are used to update macOS on unsupported hardware. They do not install the dependencies required for Affinity apps to run properly, so it's possible that software rendering may be the only way if it's been updated using one of these solutions.
