Ralph
Only just found this forum from Windows Beta. Making the most of it and clearing a backlog! :) Please add TEXT FLOW. I know (from Beta posts) that it's seen as a Publisher feature - all I can say is that in 20 years I've needed it as much in Graphics documents (CorelDraw) as in DTP (InDesign). Alfred
DrawPlus has had text flow for years. Even CraftArtist includes text flow! This should at least be on the roadmap for Affinity Designer. KoBu
I use text flow in CorelDraw since many years. In my opinion this is a basic feature, that should be included in AD too. Oval
The answer in 2014 was something like “different apps need different capabilities”, which really shocked. Basic visual design features like optical margin alignment should be integrated in AD, because a frame text tool and other text features (like kerning) are already integrated. Serif does not forbid to use AD for posters and advertisements with bad typography, but Serif could prevent bad typography. For example with a factory preset for real ragged margin and correct text flow.

Petar Petrenko
Now you ask for text flow, tommorow pages instead of artboards... and as fast as you can blink -- you have Publisher earlier than it is planed. :D Few bitmap tricks more and you get a Photo included in Designer, too. Quote All the latest releases of Designer, Photo and Publisher (retail and beta) on MacOS and Windows. 15” Dell Inspiron 7559 i7 ● Windows 10 x64 Pro ● Intel Core i7-6700HQ (3.50 GHz, 6M) ● 16 GB Dual Channel DDR3L 1600 MHz (8GBx2) ● NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4 GB GDDR5 ● 500 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD ● UHD (3840 x 2160) Truelife LED - Backlit Touch Display 32” LG 32UN650-W display ● 3840 x 2160 UHD, IPS, HDR10 ● Color Gamut: DCI-P3 95%, Color Calibrated ● 2 x HDMI, 1 x DisplayPort 13.3” MacBook Pro (2017) ● Ventura 13.6 ● Intel Core i7 (3.50 GHz Dual Core) ● 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 ● Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 1536 MB ● 500 GB SSD ● Retina Display (3360 x 2100)
Oval
Now you ask for text flow, tommorow pages […] Pages are on the Affinity Designer feature roadmap. What is wrong to ask for text flow if it is needed in AD and integrated in competing apps?
Petar Petrenko
Nobody said it is wrong, but... if they add features from Photo and Publisher into Designer, then from Publisher and Designer into Photo..., tommorow we will have three apps with different names but with same features. :D Quote All the latest releases of Designer, Photo and Publisher (retail and beta) on MacOS and Windows. 15” Dell Inspiron 7559 i7 ● Windows 10 x64 Pro ● Intel Core i7-6700HQ (3.50 GHz, 6M) ● 16 GB Dual Channel DDR3L 1600 MHz (8GBx2) ● NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4 GB GDDR5 ● 500 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD ● UHD (3840 x 2160) Truelife LED - Backlit Touch Display 32” LG 32UN650-W display ● 3840 x 2160 UHD, IPS, HDR10 ● Color Gamut: DCI-P3 95%, Color Calibrated ● 2 x HDMI, 1 x DisplayPort 13.3” MacBook Pro (2017) ● Ventura 13.6 ● Intel Core i7 (3.50 GHz Dual Core) ● 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 ● Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 1536 MB ● 500 GB SSD ● Retina Display (3360 x 2100)

Petar Petrenko
And the earth is flat. Professional text features are needed in AD. Just as bitmap features. This way all apps wil share over 50% of same code like Serif's ...Plus apps. And, BTW there are rumors the the Earth IS flat. :) Quote All the latest releases of Designer, Photo and Publisher (retail and beta) on MacOS and Windows. 15” Dell Inspiron 7559 i7 ● Windows 10 x64 Pro ● Intel Core i7-6700HQ (3.50 GHz, 6M) ● 16 GB Dual Channel DDR3L 1600 MHz (8GBx2) ● NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4 GB GDDR5 ● 500 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD ● UHD (3840 x 2160) Truelife LED - Backlit Touch Display 32” LG 32UN650-W display ● 3840 x 2160 UHD, IPS, HDR10 ● Color Gamut: DCI-P3 95%, Color Calibrated ● 2 x HDMI, 1 x DisplayPort 13.3” MacBook Pro (2017) ● Ventura 13.6 ● Intel Core i7 (3.50 GHz Dual Core) ● 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 ● Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 1536 MB ● 500 GB SSD ● Retina Display (3360 x 2100)
