ramirault
Hi All: I'm completely new to Affinity, don't know a thing about using it, and just bought it today. Before I begin to try to learn to use it, can anyone tell me how I can download a copy of the software for backup purposes? I purchased the program through the App Store, but would also like to have a backup copy in case I need it. Is that possible? Thanks! -- Ray
mac_heibu
Why? If your App is broken or gets lost (for example by hard disk crask), just download it again from the AppStore using the "purchased" section. Callum
R C-R
I strongly urge you to maintain a bootable backup of your entire startup drive (a clone) & also use Time Machine for redundancy. You should be able to download a new copy of the installer from the App Store if the installed app is deleted, but that will not necessarily save your preferences, custom brushes, styles, etc. that are stored in ~/Library/Containers/ for each app. Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V23.0 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.
