Ralph
I'm sure this didn't happen in Build 1.5.0.4 Create object and close Add coloured Fill and create wide & coloured Stroke. Convert to Text Frame - Fill & Stroke disappear My recollection from earlier builds was that the Fill & Stroke remained as set. Apologies if I'm wrong, and how do I retain the object properties? [in the draft the steps have bullets! - they have disappeared in the Post!] ConvertToTextFrame.afdesign
Dave Harris
No, it's always been like this. Text frames don't currently have their own stroke or fill. The UI for it changes the stroke or fill of the individual characters. The only way to get what you want is to copy the shape before you convert it. Staff MEB Posted July 7, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 7, 2016 Hi Ralph, This is by design. As soon as a shape is converted to a text frame it doesn't behave as a regular shape anymore.
