luca423 Posted July 6, 2016 Share Posted July 6, 2016 Dear Affinity-team, I downloaded the trial version of affinity designer for mac yesterday and so far I'm stunned by the great usability.I am working on a project with a business partner and we want to replace adobe experience design with a better software. I can say that we found it, but there is one problem: I can't open the files that my partner created with the windows version of affinity designer. Needless to say that this is crucial for working together (on the same files).Is this not possible in general or is this just not supported in the trial version of affinity designer for mac?Thanks in advance! Staff MEB Posted July 6, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 6, 2016 Hi luca423, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) You should be able to open all native affinity files no matter the platform used (the trial don't have any limitation in this regard, only the time limit - currently the Designer/Photo trials for Mac are only able to open files created with version 1.4 of Affinity Designer/Photo. Can you please upload the files giving you trouble using this link so we can take a look? All files will be deleted after being checked. Staff MEB Posted July 7, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 7, 2016 Hi luca, The Trial is still from an older version (1.4) and isn't able to open files created in version 1.5 (both Windows and Mac). I forgot to explain this in my previous post sorry. Your file opens fine in Affinity Designer 1.5 Beta for Mac. The trial should be updated as soon as we release Affinity Photo/Designer 1.5 for Mac. It appears that the file has been corrupted externally. Where are you storing your files? Are you using an external drive, a NAS (network attached storage) or a synchronised folder from a cloud service like Dropbox or similar?
