Docking question (Windows)

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am using Affinity Photo on Windows, and I've been experimenting with different panel docking arrangements. For my uses, I want to have the Library and Layers panels docked along with the document. I've found that I can dock the panels to the left or right of the image, but not above or below it. My main monitor is in a vertical (portrait) orientation, because I edit tall images, and it would be handy to be able to dock the Layers and Library panels at the bottom of my screen, so I have the full width of my monitor available for the image I'm working on. On the same subject (sort of), I assume there is no way to move the position of the tools panel, or change the number of columns.

That is correct. Panels (& panel groups) cannot be docked to the top or bottom of the workspace window.

You can undock the Tools panel (via unchecking View > Dock Tools) & float it wherever you want. You can use View Customize Tools to change the number of columns (as well as changing what tools and/or tool groups it displays).
