ShenaJ
I'm really trying to transition from Illustrator to Designer and have a quick question. In Illustrator, if I highlight a letter, a box will pop up underneath showing me all the glyphs available for that letter. The only thing I see in Designer is the glyphs panel on the side, where I have to scroll through the various sections to see all the options, but can't see them next to each other to make an informed decision. Am I missing something?
lacerto
Not really, but you can use as a workaround the Search box in context of the Glyphs panel, and type something like letter a to see all (or most of the) variations of a specific glyph: ShenaJ

Am I missing something? That pop-up box in Adopey applications is displaying the results of the OpenType Access All Alternates (aalt) feature. The closest thing to that helpful box in Affinity is in the Typography Panel. Highlight one character. Then look for the All Alternates section in the Typography Panel. The result is going to give you all the OpenType alternates for that character in that font - in one long list. The Junicode font has a lot of OpenType features and thus has a lot of alternates. The list is so long for this font you need to scroll to see them all. Below is a screenshot with the Typography Panel in Designer v2.5.3 on Windows 10. Note: the font does need to have the aalt feature. Many do not. So a font may have other OpenType features, with alternates, and not have an actual aalt feature (which is basically a summary of alternates from other features). I think Adopey will gather the look-ups from other features, even if the aalt is not actually there. So it makes an aalt feature for the pop-up box even if aalt is not there in the OpenType features. This feature (the pop-up box) has been requested many times. So far it has not happened.
ShenaJ
@kenmcdthank you, this is helpful! Is there a way to make the results in that box bigger so my old eyes can see them? I couldn't see that option.
