Rich The Angry
Is there a way to making a 2 page document where I can print in on 2 sequential pages in my printer? Also my printer can print double-sided so I can print one page on the front and one on the back.
walt.farrell
Any 2-page document should print on sequential pages, depending on the printing options you choose. And double-sided printing should be supported, again depending on the printing options you choose from the Print dialog. Are you having a problem? If so, please show us your document setup and the Print options you have available, and let us know your OS, printer/model, etc. Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Rich The Angry
Thanks, but I don't know how to produce a new 2-page document. I went through all of the New file options.

Only Publisher has Pages, though in Designer you could create a document with 2 Artboards, which you could then print as 2 pages. walt.farrell
1 hour ago, Rich The Angry said: Affinity Photo 2 Thanks. Photo is designed to work on a single image (e.g., a canvas) which would by its nature be 1 page. As I mentioned, Designer or Publisher would be more normal for creating a multi-page document, and that's why you don't find any options for multiple pages in File > New when using Photo. What kind of content would you put in your document? walt.farrell
That is not something I would do in Photo, and I have no suggestions for how you might do it. Sorry. Do you have Designer or Publisher? Rich The Angry
Well I got a trial version of Designer and was able to load the Photo file. It has 2 major layers for the images and another for a frame rectangle to help be align the paper in the printer best. Is there a way to get 2 pages out of this file so I can ask the printer to print on both sides?
walt.farrell
Can you show a screenshot including the document and the Layers panel? Rich The Angry
Current screen shot. Four layers are directly on top of each other. Those I want opposite sides of the printed paper.
walt.farrell
Sorry, but I still don't understand. Can you name the layers in the Layers panel, or annotate the screenshot to show what should be on the separate page? In any case, I think you'll have to do something like this in Designer: Open your current document. Create (File > New) a new document. Give it a DPI that matches your current document, and size it to match the page size you want. Check the box for Create Artboard. That will give you one Artboard the size of your page. In the Layers panel, make sure that Artboard layer is selected. Duplicate it. Cmd+J if you're on macOS, or Ctrl+J on Windows. Name the top Artboard layer Artboard2. Switch to the document tab you opened in step 1. In the Layers panel, select the layers you want to be on page 1. Copy. Switch to the document with th Artboards. Select Artboard1 (the lower Artboard in the Layers panel). Paste. All your page 1 content should now be on Artboard1. Repeat steps 4-6, except in step 5 select/copy the layers for page 2 and in step 6 select Artboard2 before pasting. At that point, you have two Artboards, with Artboard2 (page 2) above Artboard1 (page 1) in the Layers panel. Print it, or Export to PDF. Rich The Angry
If you are using Designer and multiple artboards, is there a way to draw across artboards (see screenshot) or do you have to cut and paste each part that goes on separate artboards?
R C-R
Try adding a layer above all the artboards in the Layers panel & draw on that. Note that if you move it AD will try to place it in an artboard so you would have to move it back above the other artboards. Stuff above & in Artboards.afdesign is a very lame example of what i mean.
