MatPun
Hi! I'm using Affinity Photo V1 on Windows 11 with "Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU" graphic card with graphic acceleration turned ON. Also a Wacom Intuos CTL 490 digital tablet. I'm trying to learn digital colouring and I'm practicing by creating layers covered in a flat colour and shading them using one of the pre-attached brushes (I'll attach a screen in the images attached) set to 40% opacity with Protect Alpha turned ON. I'm using a lot of ctrl+z and shift for redoing shades and scrolling closer to certain areas of the layers. At a certain point, seemingly at random, a square-shaped area of the layer I'm working on gets completely deleted. Clicking Ctrl+z doesn't do anything, because the program treats the layer as if it had always had a square-shaped hole in it. It has happened to me a few times already and it seems the size of the hole is relative to the size of the brush I'm currently using, also, the hole appears when I click to use the brush, and it appears in the place the brush is currently over. I have no idea what could cause such a bug, especially considering that I'm not using the erase tool and the brush I have set on it is not square-shaped - it's a circle (so even if I were using a shortcut for erase brush the shape would be different). I'm attaching a screen of the latest time it has happened to me. If anyone knows how to fix this problem, I'd be very grateful.
Pšenda
Is it really a part of the image being deleted, or is it just a display problem? If it's a display problem (the hole disappears by moving the viewport, changing the zoom, minimizing and maximizing the application), try turning off HW Acceleration (I would definitely try that). If it's really about deleting part of the image - see what kind of operation is indicated in the History panel, then I'd try the option in the occasional incorrect function of the Wacom pen (replace it with a mouse - if this happens too). MatPun
A part of the layer gets deleted, it is not a display problem. It is possible that it's the tablets fault. I will have to check. Anyway thanks for the ideas

What operation is displayed in the History panel?
