A different Jared
1. What Application are you using? [Designer/Photo/Publisher] Affinity Designer 2 for iPad 2. Are you using the latest release version? (here's how to check) Yes, 2.5.5 3. Can you reproduce it? (if you cannot then we may struggle to also, making it even harder to fix) Yes 4. Does it happen for a new document? If not can you upload a document that shows the problem? Problem occurs before reaching a point where a document can be created. 5. If you cannot provide a sample document then please give an accurate description of the problem for example it should include most of the following: iPad OS 18.0 on an iPad Pro 4th gen. Cannot reach preferences to determine if hardware acceleration is on or off. When launching Affinity Designer 2 on iPad while in airplane mode, the application hangs at the Live Docs screen. I have a mix of local documents and some stored in iCloud. All the thumbnails show as blank, and none of the buttons can be tapped. After a minute or two, the application crashes back to the iPad Home Screen. Turning on Wifi, even with no actual connection to any network, allows me to access the Live Docs screen and create a new document normally. But if airplane mode is on, the application hangs. Staff NathanC Posted October 2 Staff Share Posted October 2 Welcome to the forums @A different Jared, I've opened and imported a quite few different documents from local 'On my iPad' storage as well as files stored on iCloud on an iPad running iOS18 and enabled airplane mode but the app is launching as expected so it's not one I can replicate so far. If you save any outstanding documents in the app and then go to 'Close all documents' by tapping on the designer icon at the top left hand corner so nothing is active and then close and re-open the app does it then work with airplane mode? If this does work and you open a singular document from iCloud > Re-enable airplane mode and then restart the app does it then hang and subsequently crash? A different Jared
Interesting; using "Close all documents" then launching the application in Airplane mode no longer results in a hang/crash. Opening a single document, closing out the app, switching Airplane mode one, then relaunching also no longer results in a hang/crash. So, I suppose it's possible that one of my existing open documents was causing the issue (or maybe a combination of them). Thanks for the resolution!
