Captain Spalding
I recently upgraded from Designer and Photo for iPad to version 2 for both apps. The fonts that I had installed in the v1 apps are not available in the V2 apps. Is there a way to import or move them into V2 without hunting them down individually on the web and redownloading them? Thanks
walt.farrell
If you installed them directly into the applications, rather than installing them into iPadOS using a font manager app, then I think you'll have to find them all again. With luck, though, you also saved the original font files you downloaded, and you won't have to find them on the web again. Captain Spalding
Thanks for the reply. Sadly I installed them into the app. Does anyone else have a workaround?
walt.farrell
I'm pretty sure you'll have to search for them, then. The OS isolates the installed applications from each other, and prevents them from seeing other applications' data. And also prevents you from seeing the applications' internal data. In theory, with a 3rd-party app on a Mac or Windows, you could access the hidden part of the iPad file system, which might allow you to find the internal copies of the fonts you installed into the Affinity application. But I'm not sure you'd be able to do anything with them once you found them. One of the Serif staff has mentioned that app a couple of times, but I don't recall the details. I'll see if I can find them. Specifically, I was remembering posts like this one: They've never discussed recovering fonts as far as I can recall, but something similar might be possible if you can access the actual .ttf or .otf files from the hidden parts of the file system that way. emmrecs01
@walt.farrell My pleasure. I actually have the app but am still in the "discovering what it can do, and how to do it" phase! walt.farrell 1 Quote Win 10 Pro, i7 6700K, 32Gb RAM, NVidia GTX1660 Ti and Intel HD530 Graphics Long-time user of Serif products, chiefly PagePlus and PhotoPlus, but also WebPlus, CraftArtistProfessional and DrawPlus.
