frustrateddesigner
Hi there! Basically none of my Affinity Designer / Photo / Publisher thumbnails are showing on my Mac. I've checked the settings on Finder & I have got Show Icon Preview selected - as well as Save Thumbnail with Document on the app themselves. I've tried uninstalling, refreshing, resaving - nothing works! Please help, it's made my head explode as I can't figure out what are the right files to open without having to manually open themselves! Best wishes, L x abf
Hangman
Hi @frustrateddesigner and welcome to the forums, If you are running macOS Sequoia this is a known bug logged under AF-3857 which will hopefully, be fixed in the v2.6.0 Beta release... If you're not running macOS Sequoia, could you let us know which version of macOS you are running... frustrateddesigner and abf 1 1 Quote Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 Affinity Designer Beta 2.6.0.2861 | Affinity Photo Beta 2.6.0.2861 | Affinity Publisher Beta 2.6.0.2861 MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse

I'll grin and bear it until then! Hangman and abf
Bearjerr
I am also having issues with HEIC files now not being able to open in Photo 2.55. Yes, the temporary workaround is opening them in Preview and converting them to JPG files. This is in addition to the Affinity Photo and Designer files now showing up as generic icon pictures, all of this has occurred after upgrading to Sequoia 15. I hope these fixes are coming soon. chirpy
Any idea when (timeframe) this is going to be fixed? It has now been well over a month.

chirpy
The preview issue. But, does it matter if they are both taking this long to fix? Sequoia has been out for a while now. Plenty of time to address these things with a quick 2.5.6 fix and not have to wait for a 2.6 app update.
Bearjerr
I agree about a quick fix update which has not yet been introduced. A few people have said that the beta version 2.6 seems to have remedied the icon preview and HEIC file access problems. Hopefully, a real fix will come sooner than later. I’ve read that simply installing (but not using) the 2.6 beta will fix it before the commercial release of 2.6. As for why a fix was not available earlier, that’s not something I can answer. And I think the HEIC issue is being worked on but I don’t know much about it. You could try searching the forums for heic and looking for responses from the Serif staff.
