importing photoshop file with groups intact

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I have just downloaded the trial of affinity photo on my mac and started testing. I am planning to use it as a replacement for photoshop cs3. first thing I have opened a fairly large photoshop file which includes a lot of groups (little folders) including foto, pixel, text and vector material in single layers within a group. affinity had no problem opening the file and displaying everything as in the photoshop file. however, the grouped layers seem to have been imported as one single merged layer, so that e.g. text cannot be edited separately anymore. trying to undo the grouping did not help.

is there a possibility to import layer-group or do i have to undo the groups in photoshop first, which however is not always possible because of effects and masking being used on the group.

I hope I have described the problem in an intelligible way (I'm german) and that there is maybe a workaround for that problem.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Serafina
