tomii
Application: Photo Version: 2.5.5 OS: Windows Pro N When I drag out a square selection, sometimes the W/H in the Info panel differs from W/H in the Transform panel, is there a rounding error? And another thing I just noticed, at certian zoom levels the selection border is hidden by the grid lines if they overlap. MikeTO
MikeTO
I see the same issue with the different in W/H between the Info and Transform panels. As you said, this is likely a rounding error and should be fixed. I haven't seen the selection marquee being obscured by the grid, however, did you mean the guides? I have seen the guides obscure the selection marquee (marching ants) which IMO shouldn't happen. Hangman
Hi @tomii, 4 hours ago, tomii said: When I drag out a square selection, sometimes the W/H in the Info panel differs from W/H in the Transform panel, is there a rounding error? The two panels are measuring different things... The Transform panel shows the absolute width and height of the square, the Info panel shows the relative distance you've dragged your mouse from the point you started dragging it, i.e., the relative width and height so unless your mouse cursor position matches the bottom right corner of your square 'exactly' then the values will differ... You can create a square by holding the Shift key and dragging your mouse horizontally where e.g., you might see a width and height of 3 px x 3 px in the transform panel but a value of 6 px x 0 px in the info panel, i.e., the relative position of the mouse cursor from the point you started dragging your mouse... After creating a square, if you select the bottom right bounding box handle and drag it up and to the left you will see the values for width and height in the Info panel are negative because they again show the relative position from the point you started dragging...
