Renarde
Hi, I'd like to vary the tabs in the same block of text. I can do it by superimposing several text blocks (see attached image), but is it possible to do it in a single text block?
Hangman
Hi @Renarde and welcome to the forums, Could you elaborate a little... by 'vary the tabs' what are you looking to achieve... The dotted line between the text on the left and the text on the right for each line or should the text on the right also be ranged left... Renarde
Okay, let me elaborate : On the picture: This is the diary template for a parish. The first line contains the day and date, the second and third lines contain the time of mass and/or activities. Aligned on the left are the mass intentions. I'd like the line to be dotted up to the first mass intention, but the second and third to be undotted. Sorry if I'm not expressing myself clearly, English is not my native language. Hangman
Hi @Renarde, Many thanks for the additional information... You can achieve this using Text Styles... In the attached document I've created two Paragraph text styles, one called Tab Leader for the first line with the dots and the second called Mass and Activities for the lines where you don't wish to include the dotted lines... I've also set up a Character Style called Date for the Bold Style used for the Day and Date... Take a look at the attached file, double-click the respective Text Styles and take a look in particular at the Tab Stops section for Tab Leader and Mass and Activities... If anything still doesn't make sense please just ask... Renarde
Tried and approved! Thanks, I've never or rarely used text styles before, I'll find out more information about them.
Hangman
Hi @Renarde, That's no problem at all, I'm glad it has the 'Tried and approved!' seal of approval... 19 minutes ago, Renarde said: I've never or rarely used text styles before, I'll find out more information about them. You could give @MikeTO's free 'Expert Guide to Affinity Publisher 2' a read if you'd like to learn more about Text Styles which you can download here... Text Styles are covered starting on page 140...
