Can't save files Windows 11

Recommended Posts

When trying to either save as or export files in any affinity product I'm getting this issue.

I've tried multple different locations and file types with no luck.

Any ideas? I'm running v 2.5.5

Just guessing, but it is likely that:

1. You're trying to Save/Export to folders that are protected by the Controlled Folder Access function of Defender, or a similar anti-malware setting in some other anti-virus/anti-malware product; and

2. You have not granted access to the Affinity application you're using.

I think that what happens is the creation of the file is blocked, and then when Affinity tries to open the file for writing it's not there, giving that writte message.

It's probably a bug that Affinity doesn't detect the first failure and report it specifically. But in any case the resolution will involve you granting access to the application, or turning off the protection function.
