Hello there,

I am new to the Affinity Suite, and although I love the product, I miss a couple of things. As an indie developer, I'd love to have a tile mode for texture creation and a live update without going through unnecessary steps to make sure that my tiling actually works. I also would like to have a wrap mode or something similar to that feature where I could simply create a tillable texture by painting across edges of the canvas and maybe have a live preview as well. And the last feature would be a channel packing. I am sure that feature has been requested before by someone and I also know that there is a way how to do that, however it's time-consuming, and why can it be made much easier just by copy and paste directly to the RGBA channels?

In Affinity Photo you can use the Affine filter to help you create seamless textures.

Have you considered using a Pattern Layer in Photo to create your tiled designs?

When you come to exporting your tile you can choose the “Selection Only” setting in the export dialog, or use the Export Persona.

See attached video for an example.

Note: Some things that I didn’t show in my video are that the pattern can be moved, resized, rotated and skewed, just like any other pixel layer.
