Ryan Clarke
I use the find and replace function to find styles and replace them with other styles. I tend to click on each search result one after the next to review them and choose the best style. When I'm done I want to check the old style to make sure I haven't missed any. But there is no way of clearing the existing search results. And when I click on 'find paragraph style' and hit return, it still doesn't update. I have to click on something I don't want, and then back to something I do want to get it to refresh. This appears to be a common feature of Affinity, which is desperately in need of a refresh button. thomaso
thomaso
It was discussed for V1 already but unfortunately judged as a 'normal' behaviour that would either require a feature request or an extra bug report, as mentioned by the moderator @Dan C (Serif) here for instance: While I'm not sure about your detailed workflow, it's easy to run into a situation where a greyed out Search button is shown, but a previous list of search results is still offered. This can, for example, cause the user to accidentally remove the text for a certain result or even in the entire document, but still see the text listed as results – although the text does not exist any more at that point: 2. When search parameters get removed the "Find" list should get cleared, – but … 3. … instead the lists is preserved and the "Find" button becomes grayed-out: 4. Accidental use of "Replace" or "Replace All" can now produce both undesirable AND confusing results: The text deleted in this way gets still offered in the search results: Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1

Having to use the find and replace function just to search for all instances of the same font is the most mind-boggling stupid thing I have yet found in Publisher. Have the programmers ever used their own software for an actual project, I wonder?
