2-Factor Sign In - What Code?????????

Recommended Posts

Do you have an authenticator app on your phone or computer that you use for 2 Factor Authentication (2FA)?

You can enable 2FA for the Affinity Store, or separately for the Affinity forums. But to do so you have to provide a code from your app before the starting will be activated. So I don't think it's possible to set it accidentally.

The forum administrator's may be able to check your account to confirm whether it's activated.

Thank you. I have a couple of authenticators; however, I have never connected Affinity to them so none of the generated codes works. I never asked or 2FA why am I having to do this? I can't install to my new computer because of it. I won't be able to use any of my apps now. Is there a way to cancel 2FA? Thanks for your help. You are always great.

You're welcome.

One of the forum administrators will need to answer that, I think. But they may not be around until tomorrow morning.

However, can you login to https://affinity.store/account? Or do you get the same 2FA prompt there?

As I mentioned I don't think you can accidentally set it up without connecting an authenticator app.

Hi @undercovergypsy,

2FA can only be enabled on an Affinity Store account by someone with knowledge of the accounts login details.

We can see that it was enabled on your account earlier this year.

Should you now wish for 2FA to be removed, please contact affinity@serif.com.

Please be sure to include your name as it appears on the Affinity Store account along with the date of the most recent purchase on the account and the last 4 digits of the card used to complete that purchase.

Any spelling or grammatical errors found in the above post are deliberate and included to boost the self-esteem of those who spot them.
