Affinity Photo 2.5.5 on iPad document resize displaces perspective transforms

Recommended Posts

Since the 2.5.5 update, I’m seeing a bug in Photo during document resizing. Note that this seems to be a destructive bug and is NOT UNDOABLE, so save a version of your file externally first, or make a throwaway document! Latest release iPadOS version, 17.6.1. iPad Pro M4 13-inch.

The setup is that I have a book cover mockup, which uses a perspective transform to map a flat  cover image onto a 3-dimensional mockup of a paperback book. As of the latest update, resizing the document (Document/hamburger menu > Resize) displaces the perspective transform mesh/quadrilateral, such that the cover image is nowhere near its proper position after the document is resized. Worse, the transform remains displaced after Undo, and I can’t find a way to restore it other than recreating it, or tweaking the vertices of the transform manually, or re-importing an old file.

The enclosed screenshot shows the resulting situation. Before the resize, the transform was properly aligned with its layer, giving the desired outcome of the cover image being properly mapped onto the book mockup. After resize, it’s displaced significantly, as shown. I tried to Undo the resize, and whilst the resize itself was reverted, the transform remains displaced.

My simple attempt at recreating the issue did not succeed, and the Live Perspective Filter was properly handled during the Resize operation.

Would it be possible for you to provide an Affinity file that demonstrates the problem, and possibly a screen recording so we can see the settings you were using for the Resize operation?
