Affinity Designer How to subtract a shape from another?

Recommended Posts

There are various ways to do what I think you want to do but the quickest is probably by using the Geometry Subtract functionality.

Select both the Curve Layer you want to subtract and the Curve layer you want to subtract it from and choose menu “Layer → Geometry → Subtract”.

The order in which you select the layers may cause the subtraction to happen in different ways so you may need to experiment a bit.

There are also Compound Geometry functionalities that you might like to look for in the Help.

There’s also the Shape Builder Tool in Designer to look at if you have more complex needs.
