Mouse cursor jumps when adjusting brush size with ctrl+opt+MOUSE1 drag

Recommended Posts

Application: Photo, v2.5.3

OS: Sonoma 14.6.1 (23G93)

I can reproduce this on a new blank document.

When using the ctrl+opt+MOUSE1 drag method for adjusting brush size/hardness, the mouse cursor+brush jumps instead of staying in the same position on release.

I've seen two different versions of this bug:

  1. When AP is open on a display marked as "Main Display", the jump is relatively small and in the direction of the of the mouse movement (up/down/left/right, but never diagonal).  This jump is seen when releasing MOUSE1
  2. When AP is open on a display marked as "Extended Display", the "Main Display" behavior manifests first, but upon releasing opt the cursor then jumps down a significant amount.  Pressing opt again jumps the cursor back up, but moving the mouse at this point will jump back down first.

This behavior reproduces on both built-in and external displays, with and without macOS scaling, and with no external displays attached.  It also doesn't seem to be affected by how the displays are "Arrange"d.

I've attached videos of both with the onscreen keyboard to hopefully show what's going on.  Thanks for reviewing : )
