Hi @Pedro VZ and welcome to the forums,

Your RAW file will need to be from a supported camera. If your camera isn't listed, it means the camera's RAW format isn't yet supported by the LibRaw library that Affinity Photo uses.

This is the full list of currently supported cameras...

Which camera are you using?

Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5
Affinity Designer Beta 2.6.0.2861 | Affinity Photo Beta 2.6.0.2861 | Affinity Publisher Beta 2.6.0.2861

MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse
HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse

Which is listed so there must be something else going on... Could you upload a sample RAW file so we can take a look...

Also, could you upload a screenshot of the Develop Assistant Settings in Affinity Photo found under the App Settings in the Assistant section...

Hi @Pedro VZ,

Thanks for the file...

It's opening without issue on Desktop so I'm slightly unsure why that's not the case on iPad... Hopefully, someone else using Photo on iPad can also test your file and report back...

For some reason I am able to see it in the navigation screen, maybe I have a wrong setting for something?

Very strange... I assume if you click Fit below the thumbnail in the Navigator it makes no difference?

yeah I already try that but no luck :(

@walt.farrell will likely view this thread later and be able to try your file to see if he sees the same issue on his iPad and then may have some more helpful advice for you as I'm out of options but at least we know the file itself is okay...

Out of interest, if you click the Tick button to Develop the RAW file do you see it in the Photo Persona?

iPad Pro 13" (M4), iPadOS 17.6.1

Bad(?) news - it loaded fine.  I've not been a raw shooter for many years, so this was probably the first time I opened a suitable file in Develop mode.  99.99% certain that's the case on the iPad at least, where I have only recently started to explore the mobile Affinity apps (in contrast to experience on the desktop versions that goes back years).IMG_CB938DEAAA19-1.thumb.jpeg.406094678fd67f28200c89203c1ff1fb.jpeg

In case it's significant, my workflow here was to download the sample file on my Mac, move it into my iCloud drive and open it from there on the iPad from the Open Document option within Affinity Photo.

It Opens fine from the Downloads folder on my iPad, too.

@Pedro VZ: How are you opening the file?

  • Open > Open Document
  • Open > Import from Photos
  • Other?

  • 2 weeks later...

Another user has reported this in the iPad Bugs forum, but with a different camera.
