Coconut42
Hi, this is the first serious vector design software that I've ever used, and 30 minutes in I'm missing some very fundamental things: I'd like to have a scripting interface, with an embedded language like Lua, where I can write scripts that give me complete access to the document object [in an OO sense] tree, and the possibility to programmatically create, modify and examine "everything". This would also allow easy procedural generation of objects, think fractals or vector lines according to mathematical equations etc... Thanks PS: Holler if you need some more info on Lua, I'd help you integrate it if necessary. Oval
Coconut42
Since this probably won't be done soon I started looking for other ways to achieve the same goal; it appears that programmatically generating an SVG and loading that into Affinity is the closest I can get and it should be good enough for the beginning. Staff MEB Posted October 20, 2014 Staff Share Posted October 20, 2014 Coconut42, Yes, it's still to soon to talk about scripting. There's a long list of other features taking priority (check the Feature Roadmap for details). Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
