MtnDave
In the attached snip the picture I've selected shows the rotation and sizing handles - so I can rotate and size the picture frame including its image. If I select some of my other images - the sizing handle does not appear so I cannot do this - how do I activate thison any pic frame I select? I need to be able to drag size or rotate the pic frame and itss image.
GarryP
Can you give us a full-screen screenshot of the second instance (where the ‘extra’ sizing handle is missing) so we can see more information about the situation? Note: Images in Picture Frames can also be resized, moved, etc. by selecting the image inside the frame and manipulating that.
MtnDave
@GarryP Thanks - attached full screen. Having scaled and cropped the image within text frame I then wish to be able to tweak size overall, and rotate - ie frame and pic together so as to find best position/size in montage. GarryP
Thanks for the screenshot. I think you get the ‘extra handle’ when the image inside the Picture Frame has been manually resized (either by using the slider or by manipulating the child image layer), so you can resize either just the frame (using the inside handle) or both (relatively) together (using the outside handle), or something like that (someone else may have a better description). If you select one of the “Scale to…” options in the Properties drop-down on the Context Toolbar (when the Picture Frame layer is selected) the handle should disappear when the image is ‘back under application control’, so to speak. MtnDave
GarryP thank you, Im having a dig round...its a bit confusing. If I right click on the selected frame it brings up a list with Frame Properties - which includes an option to 'Size frame to content' it never appears ticked but seems to toggle either way. The little handle does not appear - but I can still drag size the whole thing using the corner dot. Selecting this option seems to enable sizing the way I want (post scale/crop)- So the other way enables cropping/scaling ... There is the Frame properties in the context tool bar marked x on snip attached - but this has options which dont seem to apply to my issue. Yes, it does. Only the “None” option activates the outer handle, because only then can the frame + image size be changed independently of each other and thus get the outer handle for a joint resizing. – For the other settings it is not available / not required: You can scale them with the corner handles as usual while the nested image is wanted to get scaled together with its frame, according to your frame property setting. GarryP
Tip: Just typing @name doesn’t notify that person. You need to type the @ and then continue typing the name (without a space after the @) and select the person from the drop-down.
Old Bruce
@MtnDave, further to @GarryP's instructions. What I type: @mtn and what I see: Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
