Fast way to connect all crossed lines?

Recommended Posts

Hey there,
I am using Affinity Designer 2 for vectorize some analog drawings.
For this i take a photo of the drawing and redraw it via pencil tool.

For getting (faster) closed shaped, it would be fine to connect all crossed lines?
Instead of connecting all lines separately, my idea was to draw all lines a bit longer to cross the other line and connect them later (automatically) if this is possible.

Best regards Matthias

Affinity cannot branch lines.

You can use clipping to visual cut longer lines with a shape.

You can combine several…

… nodes with the Node Tool + its Context Toolbar options "Close Curve" or "Join Curves".
… open
or closed curves with menu Layer > Geometry > Merge Curves.
closed curves with Geometry > Add.

For open curves a fill colour will be created in a straight line between start and end node. Accordingly, a straight curve will not display its fill colour.

The result may depend a lot on your arrangement + shape of curves. Here one more understanding of your description with visual results:

Similar to what @Pšenda said above, note that nodes can connect no more than 2 line segments, so there is no way to connect three or more segments where they cross.
