Save failed because control of the lock file was lost.

Recommended Posts

I have file with my document, which I am working on for quite a while (since 1.7)
Right now I am working on it with latest version of affinity (2.5.3.).
When I open this file and try to save it within a minute or so, everything works fine.
When I am working on it for a while, five or more minutes, whenever i try to save (no matter what changes I made - if i just corrected few typos or added a table) , this error occurs.

When I try to save it under different name, this error occurs

This is my hardware and my winfows version (sorry it is in Czech but you should be able to get all the info from it)

For the "too many files" problem:

1. How many fonts do you have installed, and

2. Which version of the Affinity application did you install? Microsoft Store, EXE/MSI from Affinity Store, or MSIX from Affinity Store?

For the "lock file" problem: What directory is your .afpub file in, and is it managed by any Cloud service?

I got the same error today. MSIX from Affinity. My folder and file structure is local. I only have 2 embedded images into the file, so I doubt it's that.  Has anyone been able to solve this?

I solved it myself in the end, as always :D, the issue was with embedded afphoto files. After I rasterized them, problems stopped
