asked to purchasse again on new update

I purchased Affinity Designer for iPad. And then I had updated it, the version now is AD 2, when I opened the app, I needed to login and repurchase the app. How could it happen? Why I need to buy the app again?

Welcome to the forums.

V2 is sold separately from V2. Upgrading is completely optional and, if you wish, you can continue to use the original apps for as long as you like. While V1 will no longer receive any feature updates, we will endeavour to fix any critical issues which may be caused by operating system updates for as long as is reasonable to do so.
 
 
The V1 iPad/Mac versions have been removed from the Store, but if you've bought them previously they'll still be within your applications and you can still access them from your account. Here's an article with more information.
