Advanced Selecting with the Move tool

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Like in Photoshop, could it be "done", so that the Move tool becomes a good selector tool as well..

for instance, with the move tool selected, if you would hold down cmd, or some other button combo, while holding it if you clicked anywhere it would select that top most element, on any layer in the document.

In addition, if you would select an object in this manner, but would click a second time, it could select the object underneath the top most one, and so on..

i think we could benefit from this a lot, and navigate through our document much faster and easier.

Thanks,

B

bbwebdiz,

You can already do that:

Pressing alt + click will select the objects below successively in the same layer (or group).

If you want to select objects from all the layers press Edit All Layers button in the layers panel (bottom left icon on the layers panel). You will then be able to select all the objects below no matter what layer they are in.
